We often hear about our favorite celebs misbehaving, so it's our pleasure to point the spotlight on those who inspire us with genuine acts of kindness…According to The New York Post, a customer of the Diane von Furstenberg store in New York, was turned away at the register when she miscalculated her layaway balance. The witness said, a young lady shopping at the store, had a $900 dollar dresson hold that she thought was only $500 dollars. Fortunately, for the disappointed shopper, Mary J. Blige was shopping in the same store and heard the whole exchange. Blige stepped up and offered to pay the difference. Initially, the young lady declined, but eventually accepted Mary J's generosity.Nice example, Mary J!
Tech Tip:
We're all closely watching the price of oil. Today's Tech Tip will help you save at the pump even if the price per gallon continues to climb. You may not think of your car as technology; but,
it's really the most expensive piece of technology you own. I've got plenty of great tip to keep your "transportationmachine" performing well, AND saving gas!
Tech Tips:
1. Brand gas credit cards often come with better rebate rates
than non branded credit cards and are thus ideal for the purpose of
saving gas costs.
2. A staggering 150 million gallons of gas is lost annualy to evaporation.
One effective gas saving measure is to always park your car away from
under the sun; put it in the shade of trees or buildings.
3. Aggressive
driving (speeding, rapid acceleration and braking) wastes gas. It can
lower your gas mileage by 33 percent at highway speeds and by 5 percent around town.

Observe the Speed Limit
While
each vehicle reaches its optimal fuel economy at a different speed (or
range of speeds), gas mileage usually decreases rapidly at speeds above
60 mph.
You can assume that each 5 mph you drive over 60
mph is like paying an additional $0.30 per gallon for gas.
Observing the speed limit is also safer.

Remove Excess Weight
Avoid keeping unnecessary items in your vehicle, especially
heavy ones. An extra 100 pounds in your vehicle could reduce your MPG
by up to 2%. The reduction is based on the percentage of extra weight
relative to the vehicle's weight and affects smaller vehicles more than
larger ones.

Avoid Excessive Idling
Idling gets 0 miles per gallon. Cars with larger engines
typically waste more gas at idle than do cars with smaller engines.
Use Cruise Control
Using cruise control on the highway helps you maintain a
constant speed and, in most cases, will save gas.
Use Overdrive Gears
When you use overdrive gearing, your car's engine speed
goes down. This saves gas and reduces engine wear.
