There’s an African Proverb that portrays opportunity as a galloping horse. That can only be mounted from a running start. If you’re standing still when opportunity comes by, you will miss it.
How many of us are just standing still in life. Standing in small boxes living in small corners of our minds, without expanding them without reading a book, without experiencing life in a way that allows us to be ready for opportunity when it comes.
There’s another African Proverb that says, opportunity favors a prepared mind. How do we prepare our minds for opportunity? Being open, being literate, reading books, talking to our elders, learning all we can about our life, about our history, about our past, all of these things prepare us, when opportunity comes, to be ready I can guarantee you opportunity will knock again. It knocks every day. And if you want to be ready the next time it comes. Please prepare your mind.
